Chris Reed is a beverage industry pioneer and the founder of Reed's, Inc., maker of Reed's Ginger Brews. In 1989, he created the natural craft soft drink category, transforming authentic ginger brewing into a nationally recognized premium segment. He led the company through its 2006 IPO and served as CEO until 2017, driving breakthrough product innovation and proprietary brewing methods.
Now, Chris is building the next evolution of energy with Outlast Energy, a new entrant powered by Deura9™ caffeine. Drawing on decades of formulation and category-building expertise, he is redefining performance energy with a smarter, science-driven approach designed for sustained lift — without the crash.
To scale the brand aggressively, Chris is assembling a powerhouse team of beverage industry veterans — C-level operators, board members, and strategic advisors — to launch Outlast Energy and capture a significant share of the global energy drink market.
Chris holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
